Bounce Rate

The percentage of visitors who leave a website after viewing only one page.

What is Bounce Rate?

A bounce occurs when someone visits a page and leaves without any further interaction—no clicks, no scrolling (in some definitions), no additional pages viewed. High bounce rates might indicate poor content quality, slow loading, or mismatched user intent—but context matters. A blog post that fully answers a question might have a high bounce rate without being problematic.

Example

If 100 people visit your homepage and 60 leave without clicking anything else, your bounce rate is 60%.
