Sitemap
A file that lists all the pages on a website to help search engines discover and index content.
What is Sitemap?
An XML sitemap is a machine-readable file that tells search engines about all the important pages on your site, when they were last updated, and how important they are. Submitting a sitemap to Google Search Console helps ensure all your pages get crawled and indexed. HTML sitemaps help users navigate your site.
Example
A sitemap.xml file might list your homepage, all blog posts, product pages, and important category pages with their last modified dates.
